Cryptocurrency works like a bank account, you need a wallet to manage all your cryptocurrency, meta-mask is one of them.

Meta-mask is a well known cryptocurrency wallet containing different kinds of cryptocurrency, from the dashboard you choose any of your choice (buy, sell or even give out the address of the crypto to anyone to send crypto to you and you will be credited almost instantly). But sometimes you may faced pending transaction which you want to cancel. In this post that will be addressed.

How to cancel pending metamask transaction 2023

They are many ways to cancel metamask transaction three methods will be shared, but do know that if transaction is confirmed on blockchain you can no longer cancel such transaction, else you will have to be patient and wait until it dropped on your opponent crypto address account. 

Method 1

From meta-mask dashboard locate the pending transaction and click “cancel” button immediately you noticed it taking more time than expected, before it’s confirmed on blockchain. This method is the simplest.

Method 2

Here we will use custom nonce in meta-mask dashboard to replace pending transaction with zero payment transaction and have your previous transaction cancelled. This method works for all pending transaction so follow below steps to achieve it:

  1. From your meta-mask dashboard activate “customize transaction nonce” and “advance gas control” from the advanced settings.
  2. Now goto your pending transaction and copy it’s nonce.
  3. Send new transaction to your public address like sending it to yourself. The “custom nonce” is to be filled with the same nonce of the pending transaction.
  4. Select “edit” close to “gas fee”. 

Method 3

Instead of cancelling your pending transaction on metamask you can simply speedup the transfer process by increasing sending fee so your request will be sent on time. To achieve that, from your dashboard select the pending transaction and click “speedup” button. You know, transfer of cryptocurrency comes with some fees “the less the charge fee selected, the slow it will take to get processed payment”.
