Opay and Palmpay offers a very similar services to those residing in Nigeria. These services includes (bill payments, money transfers and loans) and once you registered with any of these two, you are expected to link up your BVN before you could start enjoying their services. 

BVN stand’s for (Bank Verification Number) mostly an eleven digits number received from your bank. With this BVN, Opay or Palmpay will have access to a database, get your correct details from all the bank you operates, confirmed it, then use it during registration, mainly for easy and fast transfers to and fro your bank and also to help you increase your transfer limits on the payment application.

Now let’s say you no longer making use of Opay and Palmpay for your transactions and you wish to have your BVN removed from the account, for reasons like; lost of funds without your consent, especially if you have an active subscriptions going on and may automatically renewed itself. Am not saying Opay and Palmpay are involved in such activities. However, you may have your own reason to want to remove your BVN. So in this article, all the steps to achieve that will be provided.

How to remove my bvn from opay and palmpay

There are two ways to this, both point towards same direction of you contacting these payments platform customer care service to help “Delete your account permanently” or “Remove just the BVN” because no option or button to click on your dashboard to handle that.

Note: with just your BVN removed, you will be stripped from enjoying all of their services until you link up your BVN again. As for request of “Account deletion” you can’t revive such account back. I recommend removing the BVN instead of account deletion. 

How to remove my bvn from Palmpay

  1. Take out your phone and open Palmpay application and click in “Profile” tab at the bottom of your screen.
  2. Click on “Help and Support” then scroll down and click “Contact us” button. You can either get across to them through email or phone number.
  3. Here tell them you wish to have your BVN removed from your account, ensure you compose or come up with something convincing. Else, your request may not be granted.
  4. Provide your account details, to have your account verified and be work upon.

How to remove my bvn from Opay

  1. Go-to Gmail on your smart phone.
  2. On the Gmail app, compose your message requesting for “BVN removal” the write up should be something convincing. Explain why you want to have your BVN removed from your account.
  3. In the Subject space, write “Request for BVN remove” 
  4. Forward the message to Opay gmail address: support@opay.team
  5. Wait for your response at most 2days.
