  4. You order too much: ordering too many items can cause your Afterpay account to be frozen, The reason is, some people have it in mind to order as much as they can then move away with the money without repaying back. so to be on a safer side I will advice you checkout at maximum 3 to 4 items monthly.
  5. Suspicious activities on your account: they are many things that can raise red flag. I.e, you signed up for Afterpay account, and have the details changed, you install some third parties software to manipulate Afterpay system, you try to purchase gift cards with Afterpay which is not available.

How to unfreeze afterpay account

If you notice you can no longer make payments with your Afterpay account online or in-store follow the below steps to unfreeze it:
Note: this steps is all about you contacting Afterpay customer service (currently phone lines are closed).

  1. Visit Afterpay website and tap on “I need help to manage my account”.
  2. Read through what is on your screen, then tell them what your issues are in the message box.
  3. Afterpay customer service will check your account and help you unfreeze it.
  4. Your Afterpay account will still be frozen if you’re having some fee to pay, so try to pay it and your account will became active again.
